Creativ Company Watercolour Block| Watercolour Paints

A pad of watercolour paper that gives you the best results with watercolours. Can also be used for goauche and linoleum block printing.

With a pad like this, you can confidently experiment with watercolours, gouache or linoleum block prints. The paper has the perfect structure to make the colours flow together beautifully — without becoming uneven or staining. While you’re painting, it’s important to leave the paper in the pad – each sheet is glued to the sides to prevent the paper from wrinkling or bending when you add water. But as soon as your work is dry, you can cut out the paper on the sides. Use a knife, but cut carefully. If you’re making linoleum block prints or gel prints, simply remove the sheets from the pad and print on them individually – the thick quality of the paper results in the most beautiful prints..

Creative possibilities:.

• Experiment with different painting techniques – such as wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet, lifting technique or gliding strokes.
• Paint with gouache for bold, matte colours and beautiful details.
• Try linoleum block printing and see how the thick paper creates beautiful prints.

.

It’s always important to have the right paper ready when painting with watercolours. In fact, paper quality is so crucial to your work that it should be your top-of-mind priority – because while ordinary paper curls when it comes into contact with water, watercolour paper stays smooth and even. This is because the sheets are glued together on all sides. This is not the only thing that makes watercolour paper special, however. Watercolour paper is also known for being thicker than regular paper, which helps make the watercolour tones even more attractive. This means that you are guaranteed the best results with watercolour paper – and when you have a whole block of watercolour paper, you’re perfectly equipped to start making lots of pieces.
