Black board with wooden frame, where small, sweet notes can be made using chalk.

Need something to write on? The small board with a wooden frame can easily be placed anywhere in your home. Make the board suit your interior by adding some craft paint to the wooden frame. This makes the board both decorative and more personal. Just use plain blackboard chalk when writing on the board, and wipe it away easily with a damp cloth.

As the blackboard is both practical and mobile, it can offer many creative functions in your home that you should make full use of:.

• Use the board as a decorative name tag on the door to your child’s room
• Write the proverb of the day on the blackboard so that it gives everyone a smile as they pass it
• Hang the board in the kitchen and write your favourite recipes on it
• Or use the board to practice times-tables and letters with your children

.

A blackboard doesn’t only belong in a school classroom. At home, a blackboard can also be a huge hit – for both children and adults. You can all draw and write on the black surface, and you can do this all day long, as long as you do it with chalk, also called school chalk and chalkboard chalk. Chalk is a great tool, because you just wipe it off and then the board is ready for new fun. If you can’t get enough of the handy writing space that the blackboard provides, then consider making your own homemade blackboard using blackboard foil. This makes it easy to turn entire doors, walls, and cupboard doors into creative playgrounds.
